Maltose or malt sugar is a disaccharide composed of two glucose molecules connected with an alpha (1,4) glycosidic bond.
Maltose is a reducing sugar. It's two glucose molecules must be linked in such a way as to leave one anomeric carbon that can open to form an aldehyde group.
