Solution
Horizontal component of earth's magnetic field is along geographical south its North.
M= Magnetic dipole moment.
At neutral point on the equatorial line the magnetic field B′ cancels BH
∴B′=BH
⇒4πμ0x3M=BH
⇒(10030)310−7×M=3.6×10−5
⇒2710−7×103×M=3.6×10−5
M=10−427×3.6×10−5
M=27×3.6×10−1
=9.72
M≈9.7
