A metal sample carrying a current along X−\mathrm{X-}X− axis with density Jx\mathrm{J}_{\mathrm{x}}Jx is subjected to a magnetic field Bz\mathrm{B}_zBz (along z−\mathrm{z-}z−axis). The electric field Ey\mathrm{E}_{\mathrm{y}}Ey developed along Y\mathrm{Y}Y-axis is directly proportional to Jx\mathrm{J}_{\mathrm{x}}Jx as well as Bz\mathrm{B}_{\mathrm{z}}Bz. The constant of proportionality has SI unit.
