Biotic Potential is defined as the physiological capacity of organisms to produce their offspring under natural and environmentally optimum conditions. Biotic potential is the highest possible vital index of a species; therefore, when the species has its highest birth rate and lowest mortality rate. Related Theory:- The sum of total inhibitory environmental factors, both biotic and abiotic, which regulate population size and do not permit unlimited growth of population is called environmental resistance. Because of environmental resistance, the populations are unable to reach full biotic potential.
