Albumins, globulins and fibrinogen are the important proteins present in the plasma. Fibrinogen is an important blood clotting factor. Globulin is primarily involved in the defence mechanism of the body. Gamma globulins are antibodies that function in the immune responses of the body. Albumins maintain the osmotic balance needed to draw water from surrounding tissue fluid into the capillaries. This action is required to maintain blood volume and pressure.
