Solution
L1:xcosecα−ysecα=kcot2α
sinαx−cosαy=ksin2αcos2α
sinαcosαxcosα−ysinα=k2sinαcosαcos2α
⇒xcosα−ysinα=2kcos2α
We know that Perpendicular distance from a point (x1,y1)to ax+by+c=0 is ∣a2+b2ax1+by1+c∣
Perpendicular distance from (0,0) is p=∣cos2α+sin2α0−0−2kcos2α∣
⇒p2=4k2cos22α
L2:xsinα+ycosα−ksin2α=0
Perpendicular distance from (0,0) is q=∣sin2α+cos2α0+0−ksin2α∣
⇒q2=k2sin22α
4p2+q2=k2(sin22α+cos22α)
We know that sin2t+cos2t=1.
4p2+q2=k2
