Among the plant growth regulators, Auxins are one of the major classes which is considered as growth promoters. Auxins are of mainly two types, natural and artificial. Avena curvature bioassay, first demonstrated by Went in 1928, is done to test the function of IAA, which is a natural auxin. The Avena geo-curvature test is a bioassay for auxin-type growth regulators.
Triple pea test is bioassay for Ethylene. Dwarf pea test is the bioassay for GA3.
