TYPES OF BIOGEOCHEMICAL CYCLES:
i) Gaseous cycle:
The exchange of nutrients occurs in gaseous or vapour form.
Biogeochemical is non–mineral.
The reservoir pool is atmosphere or hydrosphere.
e.g. Nitrogen, carbon, oxygen, and hydrogen cycle.
ii) Sedimentary cycle:
Biogeochemical is mineral.
Reservoir pool is the earth’s crust or lithosphere.
e.g. sulphur and phosphorous cycle.
