Anatropous ovule is the most common type of ovule found in angiosperms. Here the ovule is inverted so that micropyle and hilum are present in the same line and the micropyle is directed downwards. Related Theory Micropyle is used for the various functions and processes of the egg or the seed plant. It is located at top of the seed or egg. It helps in absorbing the water at the time of germination of the seed. Through micropyle the root emerges out at the time of germination of the seed.
