Which of the following is not a characteristic feature during mitosis in somatic cells?

Match the stages of meiosis of Column-I to their characteristic features in Column-II and select the correct option using the codes given below: <table class="pyq-table"><tbody><tr><td colspan="2">Column-I</td><td colspan="2">Column–II</td></tr><tr><td>a.</td><td>Pachytene</td><td>(i)</td><td>The pairing of homologous chromosomes</td></tr><tr><td>b.</td><td>Metaphase I</td><td>(ii)</td><td>Terminalization of chiasmata</td></tr><tr><td>c.</td><td>Diakinesis</td><td>(iii)</td><td>Crossing-over takes place</td></tr><tr><td>d.</td><td>Zygotene</td><td>(iv)</td><td>Chromosomes align at the equatorial plate</td></tr></tbody></table>

Which phase occupies the maximum part of cell cycle?

In meiosis, crossing over is initiated at _________.

During cell growth, DNA synthesis takes place in

A cell at the telophase stage is observed by a student in a plant brought from the field. He tells his teacher that this cell is not like other cells at the telophase stage. There is no formation of the cell plate and thus the cell is containing more chromosomes as compared to other dividing cells. This would result in:
