Sporozoans are diverse protozoans which consist of an infectious spore-like stage in their life cycle. A prominent example is that of Plasmodium, which is the causative agent of malaria. This parasite has a sporophytic life cycle in mosquitoes while a gametophytic stage in the host (humans). Pseudopodia (false feet) are locomotory organs which aid in feeding and movement. These are the characteristic feature of amoeboid protozoans, like Amoeba.
