Solution
Given: 2x−2=−2y=16z−7 and 4x+3=3y+2=1z+2
⇒1x−2=−1y=8z−7=λ(let) and 4x+3=3y+2=1z+2=k(let)
⇒x=λ+2=4k−3,y=−λ=3k−2 and z=8λ+7=k−2
⇒λ=−5+4k,λ=−3k+2,8λ−k=−9
⇒−5+4k=−3k+2
⇒7k=7
⇒k=1,λ=−3(1)+2=−1
⇒x=1,y=1,z=−1
⇒P≡(1,1,−1)
Projection of PQ≡2i^−2k^ on QR line with direction ratio 2i^+3j^+k^ is given by,
QR=4+9+14−2=142
Now, in triangle PQR we get,
∴l2=8−144=14108
⇒14l2=108
