Kanchenjunga
At the time of the 2008, the Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve, which encompasses parts of the Kanchenjunga range in Sikkim, had not yet been included in UNESCO's World Network of Biosphere Reserves (WNBR). It was designated as a part of the WNBR in 2018.
The four Indian biosphere reserves that had been recognized on the World Network by UNESCO prior to 2008 were:
