Trade Payables consist of two components:
- Creditors (Sundry Creditors)
- Bills Payable
Calculation:
Trade Payables = Creditors + Bills Payable
Trade Payables = Rs. 90,000 + Rs. 52,000 = Rs. 1,42,000
When only closing balances are provided without opening balances, the closing balance itself represents the trade payables figure used for ratio analysis.
Note: Trade receivables would similarly include Trade Debtors + Bills Receivable, while trade payables include Creditors + Bills Payable. Both are commonly used in calculating working capital ratios like creditors turnover ratio or trade payables turnover ratio.
